Challenging ourselves to build a sustainable society with "Spirit of Enterprise"

The SDGs are international goals outlined in the "the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" adopted at the UN Summit in September 2015, aiming to achieve a sustainable and better world by 2030. This is a universal goal that not only developing countries but also developed nations should pursue. Guided by the principle of "no one will be left behind" it aims to realize a society where all people—including those suffering from poverty and hunger, those deprived of opportunities, and others in socially vulnerable positions—can live with dignity.

Kagoshima University contributes to local communities, domestic society, and the international community. As a comprehensive university brimming with enterprising spirit it aims to be an educational and research hub that challenges the future of both the region and the world. Sustainable means being able to keep doing something. To realize a “Sustainable World” where all people can continue to live on this one and only Earth, as the 'Center of Knowledge' of Southern Kyushu, Utilizing the outcomes of educational and research activities and the resulting 'Power of Knowledge' Each and every faculty member, student, and affiliate of our university asks themselves, "What should I do?" "What can I do?", I pondered, we will work together to achieve the SDGs.
