Background and objectives of activities
The Kagoshima Prefecture is the site of historical events from the Chronicles of Japan to the Meiji Restoration, and geographically, it is a rich natural field with many temperate and subtropical islands. In order to deepen the value of tourism in this prefecture, we aim to develop a sustainable and multifaceted tourism industry by using the seeds of research conducted at Kagoshima University.
Summary of Activities
University research seeds related to the tourism industry, including humanities and social sciences, history, pedagogy, natural sciences, disaster prevention, environmental studies, agriculture, fisheries, and life sciences, will be collected and introduced to the local community and tourism industry in cooperation with the Kagoshima Tourism Federation, thereby supporting the tourism industry from an academic perspective.
Expected Benefits
This program aims to promote sustainable tourism that will lead to the promotion of local culture and products, as well as employment by utilizing the seeds of research in all fields at the university for the revitalization of local industries.
