Background and objectives of activities
Kagoshima Prefecture is home to many remote islands, and fishing cooperatives in the island regions face challenges unique to the islands. This activity aims to solve these problems through collaboration between industry and academia, and the university has been collecting information on the problems and conducting activities to lay a foundation for such activities.
Summary of Activities
In order to work on solving the problems in the island areas, we interviewed officials of the fishing cooperatives about the problems and conducted a survey on the restoration of fishing grounds. We also provided advice and guidance on the production and sale of processed marine products.
Expected Benefits
Expected to have an impact on the promotion of local industry through the stable supply of raw fish for the processing of island specialties and the development of new sales channels and initiatives for the production of new processed products.
