Initiatives for ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building)
Facilities Department
Background and objectives of activities
Steady and effective promotion of greenhouse gas emission control and energy conservation
Summary of Activities
Based on the "Implementation Plan for Global Warming Countermeasures at Kagoshima University," energy-saving measures will be taken in new building construction and renovation to promote the improvement of the university's eco-friendly structure.
Acquired "ZEB Ready (Net Zero Energy Building Ready)" certification for the renovation of Building No. 2 of the Faculty of Law and Letters on the Korimoto Campus, achieving energy savings of 54% compared to the previous standard.
Key points of ZEB Ready
Air conditioning equipment: Adoption of packaged air conditioners with high COP (energy consumption efficiency) and total heat exchangers
Lighting: LED lighting, motion sensor control, dimming control based on ambient brightness
Fixtures: Plastic sashes, low-e double-glazing (argon gas) with high thermal insulation properties
Expected Benefits
Promoting reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and energy conservation by improving eco-consciousness
