Kagoshima University Faculty of Education, School Education Teacher Training Course In Chorus AB, a specialised subject in the Department of Music, students experience practical vocalisation, singing, pronunciation, expression and choral teaching methods in the process of singing a variety of choral works. Through this experience, they also develop a broad perspective on music. Finally, a mini-concert is planned as an opportunity to present the results of the study.
Summary of Activities
We were given the opportunity to show the results of our 'Chorus A' studies in front of the students and teachers of Deer University's attached junior high school (7 July 2022). This is the result of practising in class once a week for a total of 13 lessons. The song selection also incorporates requests from the attached junior high school. The mini-concert is the culmination of the classes.
Expected Benefits
Choral singing is the most commonly undertaken musical activity in lifelong learning. By offering performances to secondary school students by university students specialising in music, it is expected to provide them with a valuable opportunity to appreciate choral music, as well as to attract them to choral singing and invite them to sing.
