Background and objectives of activities


The aim of this course is to develop human resources with a progressive spirit who can participate in the globalizing industrial society and contribute to international society, by acquiring specialized knowledge in the fields of sustainable production and rational use of food resources, and by acquiring a rich worldview and ethical perspective, with a focus on the international community centered on Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, and Africa.

Summary of Activities

The compulsory subject “International Food Resources” provides education on “SDGs and Food Resources”. Many compulsory subjects are taught in collaboration with international cooperation organizations, food industry-related companies, etc. The compulsory “Overseas Training” program improves practical communication skills in English in collaboration with educational institutions in English-speaking regions. For the graduation project, it is possible to conduct research in collaboration with overseas counterparts if the student so wishes, and in 2020, two students conducted a project on “Establishing and Promoting a Model for Revitalizing Fishing Villages in Malaysia”.

Expected Benefits

By cultivating students who have the motivation and ability to participate in solving international food issues, and by supplying human resources who can play an active role in public organizations and the globalizing food industry, we will contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals from the perspectives of hunger, marine resources, and land resources.
