Background and objectives of activities
As part of activities aimed at achieving the SDGs, the “Kagoshima University Plastic Reduction Promotion Policy” has been formulated in order to tackle issues such as the reduction of plastic waste on campus, based on the “Kagoshima University Action Plan for Global Warming Countermeasures”.
Summary of Activities
1. Reduction of Plastic Waste on Campus
The following measures will be taken to reduce plastic waste on campus.
(1) Promotion of the use of reusable bags and bottles
(2) Promotion of the elimination of plastic from university goods
(3) Promotion of separate collection (resources, non-combustible (waste plastic, etc.), combustible)
2. Promotion of education and research related to plastic waste
Promotion of education and research related to plastic waste, awareness-raising activities for students and faculty, and social contribution through education and research in collaboration with the local community
