Academic Support Office Exchange Workshop
Support Center for Students with Disabilities
NAKAO Seiichi
Background and objectives of activities
The Disability Support Center aims to help students who lack confidence in communication improve their interpersonal skills and enhance their sense of security and self-efficacy by interacting with a diverse range of students.
Summary of Activities
Sufficient simple games and warm-ups create a tension-reducing experience that fosters a sense of safety and security, a warm atmosphere, and opportunities for self-expression and acceptance. This effectively reduces anxiety. The program utilizes short, single-scene psychodramatic role-playing to avoid excessive burden.
Expected Benefits
Students with disabilities can improve their self-efficacy and reduce anxiety through group activities and role-playing that allow them to gradually tackle tasks starting with easier ones while enjoying the process. Furthermore, in disability support services, interacting with diverse students is expected to enhance interpersonal skills and increase feelings of security and self-efficacy.
