Background and objectives of activities
Kagoshima University considered it necessary for students to be actively involved in society in order to nurture enterprising students as stated in the Kagoshima University Charter established in 2007, and established the Volunteer Support Center in April 2009 as a system to organically link society and students, providing support for students in volunteer activities.

Expected Benefits
Students are involved in volunteer activities that lead to the achievement of the SDGs goals. Some examples include working in children's cafeterias (Goal 1, Goal 2), learning support (Goal 4, Goal 10), disaster volunteerism (Goal 11), and community cleanup volunteerism (Goal 6, Goal 14, Goal 15).
