Summary of Activities
The Kagoshima University Earthquake and Volcano Center for Regional Disaster Prevention is working on issues such as clarification and prediction of disasters, disaster prevention education, emergency disaster response, and disaster recovery and reconstruction. As part of these efforts, the Center holds an annual "Symposium on Disaster Prevention and the Revitalization of Japan". The symposium is co-sponsored and supported by the Association of National Universities, the national government, local governments, and media organizations.
Expected Benefits
Aim to resolve issues related to disaster and disaster prevention in the region, including "measures to mitigate climate change and its effects," "achieving inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and human settlements," and "building resilient infrastructure.
