Background and objectives of activities
The spread of Coronavirus infection has caused a decline in the rate of health checkups. We believe that the collection of data on health-related indicators in a non-contact (online) manner will play an important role in terms of infection prevention. There are unique health problems in young adulthood, middle age, and old age, and it is important to first become aware of these problems in order to deal with them from an early stage. We believe that one of the roles of the "Kagoshima University Online Health Lab (KU-OHL)" is to serve as a catalyst for such awareness. This project is a joint project of the three departments of the Faculty of Health Sciences (Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy).
Summary of Activities
The "Kagoshima University Online Health Lab (KU-OHL)" has created an online health data infrastructure containing health-related indicators for residents of all ages. The system enables "visualized" feedback and at the same time includes health support services such as distribution of health-related information and public lectures. The system analyzes responses to an online questionnaire mainly targeting adults living in Kagoshima Prefecture. Registered users can view their own health data on "My Page.
Expected Benefits
KU-OHL registered participants will be able to visually view the results of their responses and have an opportunity to review their health and living conditions. In addition to the regular distribution of health information, the system will enable continuous health support and contribute to the promotion of self-help and the establishment of community health support systems, especially for the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases and nursing care. It is expected to enable health support for all people.
