Background and objectives of activities

In March 2006, TUAT and Amami City concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement for the purpose of contributing to mutual development through collaboration and cooperation in the fields of education, culture, industry, environment, medical care, insurance, welfare, and community development in Amami City, and aims to further contribute to the promotion of SDGs in the Amami region as a member of Amami City SDGs Promotion Platform.

Summary of Activities

Kagoshima University, as a "center of knowledge (geographical)" in Southern Kyushu, is working to promote the achievement of the SDGs in an "all-Kagoshima University" manner by leveraging the results of its accumulated educational and research activities and the "power of knowledge" in various fields generated from various educational and research activities and initiatives that are in progress.
As part of its efforts to promote the SDGs and contribute to the local community, Amami University has joined the Amami SDGs Promotion Platform and become an Amami SDGs Promotion Partner.
