Background and objectives of activities
The aim of this event is to introduce the research that our university has carried out in collaboration with local governments and companies in the Amami Islands, as well as our efforts to solve local issues and develop education and human resources, and to discuss regional revitalization in the Amami Islands with local stakeholders.
Summary of Activities
Saturday, October 25, 2025, held at the Machinaka Hall in Amahome PLAZA (Amami City Civic Exchange Center), Amami City. Approximately 160 participants attended in person and online, including the general public, employees from local governments, companies, schools, organizations, and high school students. Lectures and panel discussions were held by six researchers from our university and local practitioners on the themes of “Promoting Academic Research and Industry-Academia-Government-Finance Collaboration in the Amami Islands” and “Education and Human Resource Development for Weaving the Future of the Amami Islands.” The panel discussion on “Weaving the Future of the Amami Islands through Education and Human Resource Development” specifically touched upon the “Joint Campus (Amami Satellite Campus) Concept,” sparking an exchange of views.
