Background and objectives of activities
This is an activity that began in response to a request for cooperation for the future of high schools in remote island regions, but we are currently continuing to provide advice and assistance with the basic perspective of how to enrich and enjoy Inquiry Time. While many high schools on the mainland are limited to career exploration learning, we think that it is possible to take a relatively unique approach even within the archipelago. At the final results presentation, we can see collaboration with a private high school on the island, and we are accompanying this creative activity.

Summary of Activities
We provide advice to students on their research, surveys and creative activities (usually in September) in preparation for the presentation of the results of their inquiry activities, which are held at the end of January and beginning of February each year, and also provide feedback at the final presentation. While providing advice to students on their inquiry activities is an important activity, another important aspect is to discuss with high school teachers on the ground the ideal form of inquiry activities, and we are promoting high school-university collaboration on remote islands.

Expected Benefits
Given the geographical and economic disadvantages of remote islands, there are high expectations for a qualitative change in the content of high school learning based on the perspective of “high-quality education for everyone”.
