Background and objectives of activities
Harvesters are often used to harvest sugarcane. Until now, it has been difficult to grasp in real time where harvesters are working and what work they are doing. By collecting and analyzing information on harvesters working on the island, we aim to improve the efficiency and productivity of the sugarcane industry.

Summary of Activities
We have developed a “Harvester IoT Module” that is attached to the sugar cane harvester to record work information. The “Harvester IoT Module” makes it possible to visualize the harvesting work in real time, and to grasp the time required for harvesting, the area harvested, etc. We are developing a “Harvester Information System” that instantly displays information about the harvesting work, information about the field, etc., which would otherwise be impossible to know without going to the field.

Expected Benefits
Revitalization of the local economy, securing of human resources and labor for agriculture, labor-saving and high efficiency
