Background and objectives of activities
For remote islands where medical systems are less well-developed than in Kagoshima City, close collaboration with facilities that can provide more advanced medical care is effective.
Summary of Activities
The Kagoshima University Hospital Emergency and Critical Care Center and the Oshima Hospital Emergency and Critical Care Center share information and provide advice on case management policies by holding a zoom conference once a month to share case studies from each facility.
In addition, we have started a project to build a network using the information-sharing app “JOIN” with the emergency department, cardiovascular surgery, otolaryngology, and respiratory medicine departments at Kagoshima University Hospital and the emergency and critical care center at Oshima Prefectural Hospital. We provide advice on diagnosis and treatment of diseases in departments that are understaffed on Amami Oshima, and share information quickly.
