Background and objectives of activities
The aim of this course is to develop human resources with a progressive spirit who can participate in the globalizing industrial society and contribute to international society, by acquiring specialized knowledge in the fields of sustainable production and rational use of food resources, and by acquiring a rich worldview and ethical perspective, with a focus on the international community centered on Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, and Africa.

Summary of Activities
This class is conducted entirely in English, and is taken by Japanese students from all faculties as well as international students. It introduces global agricultural trends, the relationship between the global environment and agricultural production, diverse and unique production techniques, and the latest agricultural research cases. In addition, through group discussions that incorporate active learning, we will apply the proposal for “Sustainable Climate Smart Agriculture” to the SDGs.

We educate students who are passionate about and determined to solve agricultural production issues from an international perspective, and we nurture human resources who can become leaders in the international community. We also expect them to take on the challenge of solving global issues such as hunger and climate change.
