Coronaviruses and various other viral infections pose a serious threat to the health of the world's population. Our goal is to research new treatments and develop medications against these viral infections.
Summary of Activities
The laboratory is developing new treatments for Coronaviruses, HIV which causes AIDS, HTLV-1 which is common in southern Kyushu and causes leukemia and myelopathy, and HBV which causes hepatitis. The laboratory will identify therapeutic candidates and work with pharmaceutical and other companies to develop them.
Expected Benefits
Protect people's health by developing treatments for new coronaviruses, which are a global threat, persistent HIV and HBV infections and diseases caused by HTLV-1, which is common in southern Kyushu.
