Background and objectives of activities


The "Gender and Law" seminar reviews social events and legal systems from a gender perspective, conducts surveys and research, and considers what we should do to realize a gender-equal future society.

Summary of Activities

"In FY2021, the seminar students are working on the "Selective Marital Surname System Issue," "Abortion and Reproductive Rights," and "Better Partnership System," as well as examining the gender policies of local governments from the students' perspective. In FY2020, the group made proposals to Shibushi City, including the "Third Shibushi City Plan to Create a City Where Men and Women Shine," etc. In FY2021, the group is studying and analyzing a survey of business establishments in Aira City regarding the promotion of women's activities, and is working to make proposals for future policies."

Expected Benefits

The university students' thinking and opinions will expand young people's interest in gender, and furthermore, by disseminating this information, it will spread to a wide age range. Gender equality will be realized from the feet up through the realization of gender diversity in the communities where we live.
